He was then trampled on in confrontational scenes.

A spokesperson for the Victoria Police Department confirmed to the Daily Mail Australia that an investigation has been opened into the matter.

“Police are investigating a fight outside a shopping center in Narre Warren on Sunday January 9,” a statement read.

“Officers were called to the Princes Highway center to report that a group of young people were behaving aggressively at around 4:15 pm.

“Police learned that two men were involved in a physical altercation on the lawn.

“Upon arrival, officers spoke to several boys who refused to give a statement.

“Two teenagers, 16 from South Melbourne and 17 from Narre Warren, suffered minor abrasions and refused medical treatment.

“The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.”

The incident follows a similar altercation at the center earlier in January, where a group of teenagers allegedly sought a fight with a man who was heading to the nearby cinema with his partner.
