Introducing: The Center for Military and Veteran Services | Now

Here is a message sent to the Drexel community on November 22:

At Drexel University, we are proud to be the School of Yellow Ribbon and remain committed to providing world-class opportunities to all members of the military and their families. With extensive financial benefits, academic and social programming, specialized support services, and more—we make sure that all active duty military personnel, veterans, and Army-affiliated Dragons feel welcome and supported throughout their time here. Integral to this dedication is the excellent work of the Office of Veteran Student Services (OVSS) and their partnerships with Drexel’s Student Veteran Ambassadors, the Veteran Task Force, and Drexel’s Task Force Dragon Army ROTC, along with numerous military and veterans. organizations. To better represent the broad work that they accomplish each year, I am pleased to share with you that this office will now be called Center for Military and Veterans Affairs (CMVS).

Serving and advocating for current Drexel students, alumni, faculty, and staff who are active-duty military veterans, in military reserves, or military dependents, the Center for Military and Veterans Services (CMVS) will continue to be a university-wide effort that provides: Mentoring for our military students and veterans Across the university, the community through access to Massey Veterans Lounge, and a huge amount of services and events tailored to this important group of the population. This will help Drexel provide a more robust support network for our active duty military personnel, veterans, and Army Dragons.

Drexel continues to receive the honor of being called a “military friendly school” by the mainstream media due to the exceptional support and uniquely designed resources this center ensures students have access to. Join me in celebrating the great work of the Center for Military and Veterans Services (CMVS).
