Jade Cline Says It Was ‘About Time’ For Her Fight With Ashley Jones On ‘Teen Mom: Family Reunion’ (Exclusive)

Tensions between Jade Cline and Ashley Jones had been building up for some time before the explosion went off Teen mom: family reunion and Cline told PopCulture.com ahead of Tuesday’s premiere that it was “about time” for the two things to work their way out in person – no matter how intense the going. Open up to the MTV spin-off alongside Teen mom 2 co-star Leah Messer and Teen Mom OG‘s Amber Portwood, Cheyenne Floyd and Maci Bookout, Cline said she had no hesitation in ripping the bandage off when Jones arrived.

“I mean, I feel like it’s about time,” she told PopCulture. “I think there was a lot going on before and I felt like it was time to get it all out of the air. And honestly, the kind of person I am, it was the first night. and I felt like… I have to let go of how I feel the first night, so it’s not like that weird, awkward energy the rest of the trip. “

She continued, “I was like, ‘Either we’re going to fight or we’re going to get along or whatever. “But after the first night that we all spent time together, I wanted… I don’t know how to explain it. [have] some sort of resolution or to get the elephant out of the room, I guess. “

Portwood added that watching Cline and Jones go there “was something”, joking that she sometimes felt like “a bodyguard” to Cline. “I know most of OGs – since we’re not used to fighting like that – we weren’t used to it and all we really wanted to do was help.” The fight looked like something “very emotional,” she continued, and something that “had to happen” somehow.

Cline knows that was the first impression she made on some of the Teen Mom OG cast members. “I was like, ‘Well, I mean, they’re probably going to think I’m crazy, but I just have to get this off my chest, and I hope they can see where I’m from and understand, OK, obviously that was a problem and that’s why everything got so hot. ‘”

“I was hoping no one was mad at me or Ashley for the way this turned out,” she continued. “I was hoping everyone would support the situation a bit more. And I think everyone definitely was.” Cline even felt changed as someone who stepped away from the getaway, claiming that after everything she had been through she had learned that “sometimes being the bigger person walks away from something. or really trying to resolve something instead of making it more confrontational. “

“I was just brought up in a very confrontational environment, so that’s how I’ve always been,” she explained. “I think I’ve learned that confrontation isn’t always necessary to solve a problem. I think there are a lot of healthier ways to get around it as long as both parties are willing to do it in a healthy way. , instead of being toxic. ” Teen mom: family reunion premieres Tuesday, Jan.11 at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Teen Mom: Girls Night Out at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
