Knights field hockey signs six for 2022 season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. Bellarmine Field Hockey Coach and MAC Coach of the Year Divani Boisvert It announced its 2022 recruiting class, which includes six new students from Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Delaware and England.

Among the signatories: Emma Bartlett of State College, Pennsylvania; Liz Drebole of Louisville, Kentucky; Julia Downing of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania; Alicia Hudson from Dorset, England; Madeline Reed of Felton, Del. and Emily Williams from Louisville, Kentucky.

“This group is very well done – they are skilled players, athletic, competitive and bright,” said Boeswirt. “They all bring different skill sets that will allow us to continue our progression both at the Division I level and in the MAC. All six of these players are energetic and passionate about the game and would be a great addition to Bellarmine University and our field hockey program. I am excited to see them combined with our returning roster and making a positive impact on Bellarmine Field Hockey. “.

Emma Bartlett

  • What is the thing you are most excited about? – Pre-match dance parties in the locker room and being part of a team that raises the bar at MAC.
  • Boisvert on Barlett – “Emma is passionate about field hockey and will bring a high level of field hockey IQ to Bellarmine. She has great basic skills especially her possession and accuracy when hitting.”

Liz Drebul

  • Why Bellarmine? – I chose Bellarmine because of the community. I like that the school offers a few more classes, which allows for better educational opportunities. I also love that Bellarmine has a small campus – I love the option to walk to class and the ability to walk outside, rather than having to drive. I also love the clubs and athletics opportunities Bellarmine provides, outside of the classroom.
  • What is the thing you are most excited about? – I am so excited to be immersed in the Bellarmine community, through my academics, athletics and clubs!! I am also very excited to be a jockey and play for the field hockey team! I’ve learned so many life skills through a love of school and sports and can’t wait to continue learning more! I can’t wait to experience college in general!
  • Boisvert on Dripol – “Liz is a player who constantly surprises us. She is a great distributor especially with the ball quickly from the left to the right side of the court. She is a selfless player who will do whatever is required on both sides of the ball.”

Julia Downing

  • Why Bellarmine? – I chose Bellarmine for its outstanding academy and competitive field hockey program. I loved the feel of the campus, the team, and everything the university has to offer.
  • What is the thing you are most excited about? I am very excited to be part of a growing program in the next four years.
  • Boisvert in Downing – “Julia is a versatile player with experience on the front and back lines. She is strong and dangerous in the circle with her quick passes, counter-shooting and eliminations, but she is also a solid defensive stop.

Alicia Hudson

  • What is the thing you are most excited about? – I am so excited to be entering the campus and meeting my teammates!
  • Boisvert on the Hudson – “Alicia will continue to raise the bar for our possession in midfield. Her vision of the field, her ability to score and her speed of sticking will be an asset to us in the fall. She is an intelligent player with a lot of playing experience.”

Madeline Reed

  • Boisvert on RED – “Madeleine is a real competitor. She’s a determined player who does a great job attacking from the defensive end. Madeleine has a great adhesive force and is another versatile player who can play in different positions.”

Emily Williams

  • Boisvert on Williams – “Emily is a dynamic force both defensively and offensively. She is fast and explosive with the ball as well as making a great decision in the circle. She will do anything to get the ball in the cage.”
