Merlin unveils new board of directors, with nine new members

Merlin, the digital rights licensing partner for independent music companies, has announced its new board of directors.

The Board of Directors, which is elected from and by the membership of Merlin, includes representatives from twelve different countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania, and will serve the organizations tens of thousands of member labels as it concludes deals with partners like Apple, Facebook, Peloton, Snap, Spotify, TikTok, YouTube, etc. This year, nearly half of the board members were elected or appointed for their first term, and 11 members are returning for another term.

The new members elected to the 2022 board of directors are: Pascal Bittard, owner, Idol (France); Tom Deakin, EMEA Manager, AudioSalad (UK); Sandra Ortega, Director of Global Partnerships, Altafonte (Mexico); Louis Posen, President and Executive Director, Hopeless Records (United States); Jason Taylor, Director of Label Sales and Strategy, Redeye (US); and Yushi Yamashita, president, RightsScale (Japan).
