Arthur Melo has decided he will only leave Juventus for Arsenal despite rival interest from Premier League wrestlers Newcastle United, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.

Having been limited to just three Serie A starts since Max Allegri replaced Andrea Pirlo in the Allianz Stadium dugout, all Arthur wants is to feel important again.

And, after spending the last two days whispering sweet words in the Brazilian’s ear, it looks like Mikel Arteta has managed to convince him that north London is the place to be.

Italian publication La Repubblica reported earlier in the January transfer window that Newcastle were interested in a potential £ 50million deal.

Arthur, who joined Juventus in a £ 72million more cash player deal including Miralem Pjanic, has also received La Liga and Bundesliga approaches.

But, according to Tuttomercatoweb, there is only one club that Arthur is said to be ready to leave Juventus for this month. And it’s not Newcastle. You can forget about Seville either.

Is Arthur right to choose Arsenal over Newcastle?

Arteta is said to be ready to “guarantee” Arthur a major role for the Gunners.

And the former Barcelona playmaker looks set to snatch Arsenal’s hand as he seeks to secure the 25-year-old’s loan for the remainder of the season.

However, there is one hurdle that must first be overcome before Arthur poses for photos outside Emirates Stadium.

Allegri will only let the little hired hand go if Juventus can bring in a replacement first.

That’s not to mention the fact that Aaron Ramsey is also set to leave, with Newcastle leading the race to sign the Welshman.

It remains to be seen whether Allegri would be willing to let Ramsey and Arthur pass through the same window, given that the central midfielder isn’t exactly a strong position when it comes to Juventus.
