Tennis star Novak Djokovic has been detained in Australia ahead of a court hearing which will determine whether he can stay in the country without a coronavirus vaccination.

The Serb, ranked number one in the world, faces deportation after canceling his visa for the second time, which the government says poses a threat to the public.

Lawyers for Djokovic, 34, are appealing what they describe as an “irrational” decision. The hearing is scheduled for Sunday.
