Salford City 1-1 Tranmere Rovers

Paul Glatzel came off the bench to save Tranmere by a point in a 1-1 draw at Salford.

The Ammies took the lead when Remi Oteh took advantage of a mistake by Rovers goaltender Ross Doohan to convert the easier half-hour chances.

Salford were chasing a third straight win and saw Tyreik Wright and Matty Lund come close on either side of Oteh’s first-half gift.

Having won six in a row themselves, Tranmere was limited to a sliding effort from forward Elliott Nevitt who crossed the crossbar and came off the ground and was second at halftime.

But the visitors improved and almost knocked on the break early in the second half as Liam Feeney picked Charlie Jolley who crushed his effort on the crossbar.

The Rovers kept pushing and were not to be denied as Salford failed to clear a left wing free kick and Glatzel took the lead on the rebound after Jolley’s effort was blocked.
