We’re almost halfway through the January transfer window and the market is gaining momentum amid a weekend of huge action on the pitch.
Kylian Mbappe’s future continues to be a major talking point with the Paris Saint-Germain striker undecided over his future and has now reportedly offered a short-term deal to retain interest from Real Madrid.
Los Blancos are among the teams tipped to sign Erling Haaland and updates on Borussia Dortmund’s next move keep coming in plenty and fast. Manchester City, Barcelona and Manchester United are also keen on the Norwegian.
At Old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo rumors are going nowhere while Eric Bailly is the latest Red Devil linked with a move.
Tottenham look set to bolster their squad this month with Adama Traore on their radar and Tanguy Ndombele one of several ready to transfer, for the right price.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking for defensive reinforcements amid an injury crisis at the back. A left-back to cover injured Ben Chilwell is a priority, as are new contracts for Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Arsenal are also on the hunt this month but their focus remains top notch with Dusan Vlahovic a key target. A new central midfielder would also come in handy, where the Gunners are very short of options.

Ralf Rangnick will consider selling full-back Diogo Dalot this month.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the return of the Portuguese player to the first team will not save him from the ax of Manchester United.
A bid will be considered, it is claimed, amid interest from Atletico Madrid.
Ben Arfa finds a new home?
Former Newcastle and Hull star Hatem Ben Arfa is considering his next career move.
After a stint with Bordeaux ended in May, the 34-year-old is in talks to sign for Lille, according to L’Equipe.
Man City turn to latest big-name target
Manchester City are preparing an ambitious offer for Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior.
The 21-year-old cost £40m when he arrived in Spain as a teenager and has impressed this season, scoring 15 goals and setting up nine more.
But El Nacional report that City see him as an alternative to Erling Haaland, particularly if the Norwegian signs for Real.
Dybala torn between the Italian giants
Inter Milan and Juventus are vying for Paulo Dybala.
Out of contract this summer, the Argentine striker was offered a base salary of £165,000-a-week to stay in Turin, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter’s offer is a little short but Dybala’s time with Juve hasn’t been easy lately and a change of scenery could be interesting.
His agent, Jorge Antun, is expected to provide an update on the situation later this month.
Roma reject Newcastle approach
Newcastle failed in their bid to land Chris Smalling.
The former Manchester United defender is now part of Jose Mourinho’s Roma defense and the Italian club have rejected an approach from the Toon.
According to Il Romanista, a £10million offer was quickly rebuffed due to his prominent role in the Lupi squad.
Sevilla’s Diego Carlos would also be of interest to Eddie Howe.
Haaland ‘rushed’ in key decision
Erling Haaland has opened up on Borussia Dortmund’s attempts to keep him at the club.
Amid interest from Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona, the young striker claimed he was ‘in a hurry’ to make a decision – adding that ‘things will happen now’.
“For the past six months I have chosen to say nothing out of respect for Dortmund, but now the club have started to press me to make a decision,” he told Viaplay.
“All I want is to play football. But they’re pressing me…about my future, so that means I have to make a decision soon.
“That’s what they want. It means things are going to happen now.”
Man United open to Bailly exit
La Gazzetta dello Sport detail AC Milan’s search for a new centre-back.
Eric Bailly is said to be the Rossoneri’s first-choice target despite his participation in the AFCON with Ivory Coast.
A loan move is said to be highly likely with Manchester United described as open to such a deal, and Bailly’s close friendship with Milan ace Franck Kessie could help the deal.
PSG in Mbappé’s new plea
Real Madrid are strongly tipped to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer once his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires.
But the Parisians are far from having given up trying to sign their man on the dotted line.
According to FootMercato, a short-term mega-pay deal must be put on hold in Mbappe’s way of warding off Real.
Likewise, the Telegraph describes the 23-year-old as being open to signing the deal.
