Will Smith handled the grief not by listening to sad tunes, but by having too much sex – and throwing up as a result.
The “King Richard” star revealed in his new memoir, “Will,” that he sexually transformed into a gag-prone “ghetto hyena” after his then-girlfriend Melanie had him. deceived.
“I desperately need relief, but since there is no heartache pill, I resorted to the homeopathic remedies of rampant shopping and sex,” Will writes (via BuzzFeed News).
“Until this point in my life, I had only had sex with one woman other than Melanie, but over the next several months I became a ghetto hyena.”
Apparently this was not in keeping with his inner being, so Smith developed a “psychosomatic reaction” to ejaculation.
“I have had sex with so many women, and it was so constitutionally unpleasant at the core of my being, that I developed a psychosomatic reaction to orgasm,” he writes.
“It would literally make me throw up and sometimes even throw up.”
Despite the adverse reaction to sex, Smith continued to sleep with women in the hopes that they would cure his grief.
“In any case, however, I hoped to God that this beautiful stranger would be ‘the one’ who would love me, who would make this pain go away,” he explains. “But invariably I was there, vomiting and miserable. And the look in the eyes of the women deepened my agony even further.
Smith married Sheree Zampino in 1992, but the couple divorced in 1995. He later married his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, with whom he has an open relationship.
“We drank everyday, we had sex several times a day for four consecutive months,” he writes of their courtship display. “I started to wonder if this was a competition. Anyway, as far as I was concerned, there were only two possibilities: I was going to sexually satisfy this woman or I was going to die trying.
Smith has three children: son Trey, 29, with Zampino and son Jaden, 23, and daughter Willow, 21, with Pinkett Smith.
